AI voice dictation · 100% offline
Stop typing on your Mac.
Hold a key and speak.
You speak 150 words a minute — and type 40. Transcritor turns your speech into clean, punctuated text in any Mac app: email, WhatsApp, Notion, Word, ChatGPT. Plus it transcribes meetings, videos, and audio files.
0 bytes of your audio ever reach the internet: transcription runs entirely inside your Mac, on the chip you already own. Works in airplane mode — literally.
Features
Built for people who write all day
Global push-to-talk · Mac
Hold fn (or right ⌥ / right ⌘, configurable in the menu). Works in any Mac app: email, editor, browser, chat.
Turn files into text
Video or audio (MP4, MOV, MP3, WAV…) and YouTube/Vimeo links become full text + an .srt caption file, right on your Mac.
Dictation history
Everything you dictate is stored locally, with search and quick copy. Nothing goes to the cloud.
Portuguese + 90 languages
Works out of the box in your system language and transcribes 90+ languages — for files and videos, detection is automatic.
How it works
Three gestures, zero windows
Transcritor lives in your menu bar. You don't open anything, switch apps, or click a microphone button.
Hold the key
Press and hold fn. The menu-bar icon turns red: it's recording.
Speak naturally
Dictate a sentence, a paragraph, or a whole email, at your own pace.
Release
The text is transcribed and inserted into the field you were in, with your clipboard preserved.
Honest comparison
"But the Mac already has dictation."
It does. And you stopped using it, didn't you? Apple's dictation is a system feature; Transcritor is a work tool.
| macOS dictation | Transcritor AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | stumbles on names, acronyms, and technical terms | Whisper engine — the same one ChatGPT uses to understand voice — running on your Mac |
| Punctuation | inconsistent — you end up saying "comma" and "period" | automatic: text comes out ready to send |
| Dictation history | doesn't exist | everything saved and searchable — on your disk only |
| Files, videos & links | can't do it | MP4, MP3, YouTube → full text + .srt subtitles |
| Meetings with minutes | can't do it | recording, transcription, and AI minutes (+ Notes plan) |
| Truly offline | depends on settings and language | always — works in airplane mode |
File transcription & conversion

- YouTube, Vimeo and other video-site links
- Upload local video and audio files
- Full text ready to copy or save (.txt)

Transcribe your meetings, with ready-made minutes — 100% on your Mac
Record the meeting in the app and transcription happens inside your Mac, 100% offline — the audio never leaves your computer. Complete security for sensitive conversations. At the end, one click generates AI meeting minutes: an executive summary, decisions, and action items with owners. The minutes are optional and are the only moment anything leaves your Mac — only the transcribed text, never the audio, and it's never used to train AI.
- 100% local recording and transcription — the audio never leaves your Mac
- AI minutes: summary, decisions, and action items with owners
- Meetings saved on your computer, with .txt export

- History kept only on your disk
- No telemetry — your account is only for billing
- The one optional exception: AI minutes (+ Notes) send only the meeting text — never the audio — and it never trains models

Plans
One app instead of three.
Most Mac dictation apps charge $12–15 a month — and only do dictation. Transcritor does dictation, file & video transcription, and AI meeting minutes in one app, for $4.90/mo — about 16¢ a day.
Both plans include unlimited dictation and file conversion. + Notes adds meetings: recording, transcription, and ready-made minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on mobile?
Not yet — today Transcritor is Mac-only (dictation, meetings, and file conversion, all 100% local). A mobile app — for recording meetings on your smartphone — and a Windows version are on our roadmap.
How does the subscription work?
You get a free 7-day trial, right in the app — with dictation up to 2,000 words, meetings up to 30 minutes, and files up to 20 minutes. Then you pick your plan (PayPal or card): once you subscribe, everything is unlimited, with updates included — and you can cancel anytime, with no penalty.
What if I subscribe and don't like it?
You have a 7-day money-back guarantee from the moment you subscribe: reply to your purchase email or write to [email protected] and we'll refund 100%, no questions asked. And before that, you've already tried everything free for 7 days.
How do I cancel?
From your account area, in one click — no penalty, no phone call, no exit interview. After cancelling, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
What is the Transcritor AI + Notes (Plus) plan?
The Plus plan combines both products: the full Transcritor AI on Mac and Transcritor Notes, meeting transcription on your Mac — 100% local, the audio never leaves your computer — with AI minutes — an executive summary, decisions, and action items ready to share. Your meetings stay saved on your Mac. The AI minutes are optional and send only the text, never the audio — and it's never used to train AI models.
macOS says it can't verify the developer. Now what?
That's Apple's Gatekeeper, and you only need to allow it once:
macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer: try to open the app normally, dismiss the warning, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security — scroll to the bottom and click "Open Anyway".
macOS 12 to 14: right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm.
Why is the download so small?
The app downloads the transcription model on first use (you choose between 60, 190, or 547 MB, depending on the quality you want). After that, everything works offline.
What permissions does the app ask for?
Microphone (to hear you), Speech Recognition (for Apple's native engine), and Accessibility (to detect the dictation key and insert the text). All are used locally only.
Does it work with videos that require a login?
Today support covers public links (YouTube, Vimeo, and others) and any video or audio file on your Mac.
